“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters.”
-Norman Maclean

"Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after."
-Henry David Thoreau

"And, finally, not because I regard fishing as being so terribly important but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant – and not nearly so much fun.”
-Robert Traver

When not on skis, Cameron can often be found floating down one of Montana’s rivers with a fly rod somewhere within reach. He is a licensed fly fishing guide in the state of Montana and, to the best of anyone’s knowledge, the only guide who also holds a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics. The path that leads from the LSE to a Montana river is not a well-traveled one.

Time spent floating and camping on Montana’s rivers with family and friends ranks among life’s higher forms of civilization. Evenings beside a riverside campfire often give way to long discussions about rivers, trout, boats and the pursuit of the well lived life.

On the matter of boats, Cameron believes strongly in intellectual pluralism. His current lineup includes a Clackacraft Eddy 360 drift boat and a Sotar Blackfoot Strike raft—both exceptional craft for wandering Montana’s rivers.
